Ready, Set, Hold On.

Welcome!

In my parent's house, downstairs, in what we call "guest room number two", in the closet, stuffed behind my girls camp shirts, is this box. This box has a simple black and white label stamped on the side that reads "Katy's Journals". Within this box is just that, my journals aging from about 1998 to probably around 2006. Now, most normal human beings have two or three journals that flip throughout the years of their lives, however, I have over twenty. Some completely full, others just barely touched, and one or two that probably don't have more than the first page scribbled on. I have a fetish, yes I admit it. I LOVE or almost am obsessed with the cracking of a new spine, the unwritten pages, and of course, the sometimes furry or bright colored covers of journals. As a child, my mother rolled her eyes every time I found a new addition to this collection... which could probably be compared to the three year old child that pleads their parent to buy them that new shinny toy which within three days becomes lost in the sea of other sad, unplayed, unloved toys in the shed. BUT, instead of toys- I begged for a new journal... which yes, you guessed it, would just find itself right along with the other thousands of journals that I hardly ever used or touched. What can I say?

The reason for the explanation? This is probably the fifth blog I have tried to start, and as those journals sit in the dust in my parent's "guest room number two" closet, my blogs have been lost in the mass amount world wide web. So, why might I start a new one instead of just use the old ones? I have a tendency of trying to be witty with my passwords which is great, because even I can't remember them. Oopps! Therefore, I am here again, trying for the umpteenth time to describe my world within a few paragraphs every so often. (Oh, and I'm not that witty or creative, Raw Umber is the name of the crayon sitting next to my computer.)

HOWEVER, I actually have a little motivation to keep this blog up and going. In just 18 days here, I am off to travel the world! Okay, maybe not the world, but I am making my way over to Viterbo, Italy! I am just taking a suggestion given to me in orientation, which was to start a blog so that those at home (or at least those that pretend to be interested and not stockerish...) can see what I am doing without producing an astronomical cell phone bill.  Let's just hope that I can actually keep up with my promise... eekk.

Wish me luck?!

Get on with it already, geez!

With 18 days left I am doing exactly what I was doing two months ago! As a Scorpio and the #1 laziest person in the world (I have the mug, so back off), I have yet to start packing, go shopping, finalize my flight, get my visa (NOT MY FAULT IT'S IN THE MAIL), or buy the camera I have had my eyes on for the last few months. I have: enjoyed a few relaxing days with friends, family, and that one guy I tend to claim once in awhile, worked at the neighborhood Italian restaurant, read a few books, and fully enjoyed my summer vacation! Therefore, my conscious is getting the best of me, so within the next week I hope to have everything planned, prepared, and ready to step onto that plane (what time do I have to be there again??) on August 30th?? Instead of READY, SET, HOLD ON... we will change that to READY, SET, HOLY CRAP I HAVE LESS THAN HOW MANY DAYS TO GET MY STUFF TOGETHER??!?!?!?!

Wish me luck??

<3
